Position: Athletic Director – Head Football Coach
Reports to: Superintendent
Campus/Department: Giddings ISD
The Giddings Independent School District is searching for a highly qualified, experienced, successful Athletic Director and Head Football Coach to direct and manage the District’s Athletic program and coaching staff.
Giddings High School participates in UIL 4A, Division 2, and offers participation in Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Soccer, Powerlifting, Softball, Baseball, Track and Field, Tennis, and Golf.
The Giddings community, parents, school board, staff, and administrators hold high academic standards for all students. We strongly encourage multi-extracurricular activity participation in all activities including UIL Academics, Athletics, Band, Cheerleading, Fine Arts, Career and Technology pursuits, and Club events.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master's Degree preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required
Experience:
- Proven success as a Head Football Coach or First Assistant/Coordinator at a 3A or larger high school, with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor coaching staff ("Coach of Coaches")
- A track record of fostering high student-athlete participation at the middle school level, carrying over to sustained success at the high school level by providing a positive, safe, disciplined, and successful experience
Skills and Characteristics:
- Willingness to promote and build all Boys and Girls Sports at both the High School and Middle School levels under the guiding principle of the “Student-Athlete”;
- Development of the Football program to return to a highly competitive level;
- Leadership skills including: Planning, Organizing, Scheduling, Evaluating, Motivating, Instructing, Mentoring, Managing, Communicating, and Budgeting;
- Highly productive work ethic, high energy, and time efficient;
- Unquestioned Moral and Ethical behavior and personal characteristics;
- School and Community Visibility and Participation; and
- Commitment to Giddings ISD and the community for a long tenure.
